Swedish Interiors

I've been looking at a lot of interior design sites lately, and have noticed that Swedish designers seem to strongly favour white themes and elements. I mean, these places are stark, a hell of a place to wake up with a hangover. I'm not sure why they seem to have so much white in there, perhaps because of the lack of sun in winter?
