I've decided that this year, I'm going to be a Reader. I will read at whim, and sometimes just for the fun of it. So I went to the bookcase and tried out a book, entirely at whim, and just for fun.

This book is one I've tried to read for many years, and had to give up the project often. It isn't really a difficult book, in fact, the author often offers his POV using increasingly simple examples. I wonder what the issue is for me. I'm thinking I have a problem looking at the nearly unbroken walls of text. My eyes aren't really fixing on the lines as I read them, despite wearing spectacles.

But I'm determined, and will put up with re-reading parts after falling asleep. Forge ahead, Reader!

You might want to try using a 3x5 card or two to block out the text above and below the lines you are reading, then move it down the page as you go. I sometimes need to do that if I'm tired or the print is too small.
